Writing Resources for Students
While helping a friend’s daughter with her homework, it seemed as though she had the right idea about her subject, but didn’t know how to express her knowledge. So, the idea popped into my head that I could offer a place where students could get some help. Are there other resources out there? Sure . . . but this one’s mine. I hope you find this helpful.
Y’know, I didn’t intend to become a writer. As a matter of fact, I hated English classes. I was going to college to become a computer programmer in the newly-burgeoning field of Computer Science. (Yes, I am talking about way back in the early 1980s.) However, even as a “techie,” I have found the value of writing well has served me well. It can certainly help you in life, also.
Learning to write well doesn’t have to be boring. Use this web site as a quick reference. All I ask is that you try to learn every time you come here. Try your best to commit each little tidbit into memory—one rule or example at a time. Whatever you do, don’t try to memorize it all at once. That’s just wrong.
If you’d like, you can with any comments, questions, or suggestions.
I do not check my e-mail all the time. I shall do my best to answer you and not leave you hanging, but in case I am busy with work, just be patient. Please do not hesitate to write, but please understand if I do not respond promptly.
